It’s been a minute but I’m back with many things to say a lot of images to share so it’s gonna be a good one.
This letter will likely be a bit all over the shop as I myself have been all over the shop and tbh feeling kind of crazy busy and a bit of a hot mess with all that’s been going on!

Portfolio Reviews

Here and Now Triennial Exhibition
I entered a few open calls the last few months and whilst there has certainly been a lot I haven’t heard back from I’m still so glad I have been exercising that submission muscle because it’s good to get used to the ratio that is acceptance and rejection.
I was so pleased when I got the email to say I would be one of 42 artists shown in a major gallery though! I’ve only been in pop up group shows and whilst they are super fun it’s lovely to be recognised by a real life gallery like HOTA.
I will also be speaking on a panel in November in conversation with the curators and other featured artists by art in my city. I love to talk so this opportunity is one I’m really stoked about.
You can see the full show digitally here. I grew up coming to this arts precinct when it was much smaller and would regularly see arthouse films at the nearby cinema. It was my safe place and the only place really that embraced art and culture in my town all those years ago.
It’s wonderful to see things change and grow and to be a part of that.
Studio Days
Lux and I do everything from home mostly so our house is our workplace and with a toddler in the mix it can get a bit much in here - think cameras and toys EVERYWHERE!
I was put forward for a local program that connects creatives with spaces and provides opportunity for them to access free space and share it with the community.
After a few interviews and a tour of the space I was advised I had got the space for 3 months and was able to conduct both personal and professional work from there as well as make changes to have the space feel like my own.
Here is a progress shot of what I’ve done so far.
This space has already presented some amazing ops and I will be hosting events and exhibitions here throughout the 3 months.
I will be working on a personal project for the entirety of the residency and presenting it as a solo exhibition and zine at the end of my time here. Follow along on YouTube to see what I get up to and to see my new camera purchase made special just for this project!
IRL Photowalk
You know I love to photo walk but I normally do it solo (with Lux) not with a group.
Well that is about to change as I will be hosting my first ever in person event as part of the Gold Coast Open House festival which is a worldwide festival held every year celebrating the beauty of architecture.
I will be hosting a walk through the suburb of Southport and the event has already sold out which really shocked me - but also made me think hmmm do I need to host more photo walks throughout Australia?!?
Keep your eyes on socials for more on this as I may be heading to Melbourne in November to host another one with the support of my lab Ikigai!

Print Shop Update
Print prices will be changing again soon so if you have your eye on something GET IT NOW!
I have added one new absolute banger taken by Lux that just screams summer and will brighten any space.
My Ping Pong print is popping off and I want to thank all of you for the support over on the print shop. It’s an unmatched feeling selling a print and I have even had the pleasure of selling locally lately too and being able to deliver to clients myself which is so so cool!
