I took my old Nikon F out for a walk yesterday, probably for the first time in about a year. It felt good!

I’m just getting back to picking up my camera after a year long health detour. Shooting feels a little daunting & rusty right now. Your perspective is really encouraging in finding a way to get back to it.

Hey mary, that's so great to hear. It can be really hard to get back out there. I struggled after a complicated birth and some mental health issues post partum so I totally get health being a barrier to getting out there. I hope you find some time even if it's just an hour. Let me know how you go!

Came to your stack through youtube. This article is the exact motive for which I was browsing through old YT for inspiration

Been some time since I actively indulged in photowalks and got serious about them. Want to pick that again for much needed soul healing.

Here’s hoping to taking action now.

Photo walks are the best! You’ve reminded me to go on mine when it’s been a while. Happy capturing!

If I’m stumped, I like to concentrate on being aware of my surroundings. Maybe just standing in one place. Looking. Noticing. You then start to see. And all of a sudden, you will know what you want to photograph.

Procrastination reasons are very relatable. I do make things more complex than necessary, do overthink, and have real issues with time management and just allowing myself time to do creative things in between work and life responsibilities (you’d think at nearly 52 I’d have the whole “adulting” thing figured out but nope; yay, ADHD).

Actually making the time is the first challenge for me, then making sure I take the time and neither make excuses nor get hung up on whatever I was doing beforehand.

Great advice as always, and I needed to see it.
