These are very useful tips. Creating space is a big one! You mentioned that there aren't a lot of non-science advice on this topic. I don't offer advice, per se but my newsletter is focused on how our daily lives require that we continuously work on a reciprocal relationship with our creative practice. I share weekly from my own personal point of view based on 25 years of continuous practice and I share what works for me. It's a relationship with its own set of needs that depend on the individual and the fundamental belief I have is that it's counter productive to try to apply a toolset while at the same time, the other parts of one's life are upside down. Working on one's good standing in the universe and connection with everything that is, to me, goes hand in hand with increasing creative potential. Thanks for being one of the ones to inspire on that path!
Hello lucy from Dallas, Texas. I have followed your YouTube channel for a while, I really appreciate your insight on photography. I am a serious beginner, I got into doing it for my health. I had double bypass heart surgery and this is helping me to stay active and giving me peace of mind and allowing me to see the beauty in the world through the lens of my camera. So far I have 3 nikons-D60, Nikkor FTN and a N60. I really love my Nikkor cause it’s film. For Film I am using Fuji color 200&400 as well as Ultra Max, along with ilford b&w. Please let me know how I can get one of your zines. I just got Susan Hellmert zine all the way from Germany and I love it. I’ll be posting some photos soon as I get to know substack better. Please have a great day!
Hello Jonathan! Thank youf or this very kind comment and I'm so glad to ehar that photography has a positive effect on your life and daily habits. It does the same for me and it helped me to overcome post natal depression and find myself again :) I don't actually have a zine! It's something that's been on my list for ages but I'm never sure if it's the right path for me. I dream of writing a book that will help creative people so hopefully one day that will happen! Have a beautiful day and stay creative. Lucy x
