I do admit i spend time looking at what others are creating but its only so i can do the opposite. At other times i just love looking at stunning images.

I often fear failure on a creative project (drawing/painting) because I think it won’t look good… when I haven’t even started! Reminds me how great it was back when I was taking classes and just dove into a project w/o thought. I need to be like that older version of me again :]

Hmm, not so sure. If you are looking at other people’s work you can see the world differently, gain new perspectives. I agree with the competition aspect. It doesn’t make sense to run for more followers if you are doing the same stuff all over again. But asking yourself if you should get a new perspective on the stuff you are doing, a look to other people’s work might be helpful.
